We want to thank the Central Florida community for their support of the 22nd Annual Paws in the Park. On Saturday, February 13 we raised over $100,000 to support homeless pets here in our community. Lake Eola officials estimate 15,000 people came out to enjoy fantastic weather along with 53 unique vendors and six food trucks.
In addition to celebrating our participants fundraising successes we also performed over 500 free microchip scans, inserted over 35 new microchips, and adopted out four of our shelter dogs!
The ever-popular Disney Kids & Family Zone was set up onsite as well as Splash Dogs, a canine lure course, and agility field. We had certified dog trainers who presented several demonstrations on-stage; Tom Terry & Jorge Estevez from WFTV served as event emcees. The event also included a very popular Doggy Kissing Booth, and the Orlando Gay Chorus performed a half-hour set of favorites!
This community wide fundraising event provides support for the more than 10,000 homeless pets who will be cared for at our two shelters this year.
